There’s no better feeling than dedicating your life to a career where you are fulfilled, you know that you are doing good and are supported by the organization you work for.

Many have found that at Maine Veterans’ Homes, where every day it’s a privilege to care for nearly 600 Veterans, their spouses and Gold Star parents. We have six locations throughout the state: Augusta, Bangor, Caribou, Machias, Scarborough and South Paris

Our Veterans gave so much to our country and we are honored to give back to them in the form of providing excellent care and enrichment to their lives. MVH also believes it’s important to provide many avenues for which to provide award winning care to our Veterans.

Training at MVH

Several of our Homes offer an “Earn While you Learn” program where students train to become Certified Nursing Assistants while also earning a salary. They employ4also get to work with our residents, allowing them to form special relationships that both parties benefit from. In our Scarborough Home, the Earn While you Learn provides tutoring for those students who English is their second language.

It’s also common for our Homes to partner with area nursing schools to help teach and nurture students who will provide the excellent care our Veterans deserve. Students get the hands-on experience they need to become healthcare steward and MVH gets the opportunity to introduce these students to our very special mission of “caring for those who served.”

We also support CNAs who wish to pursue nursing degrees through tuition loan assistance.

According to a 2016 Clear Company study among millennials, 87 percent of those surveyed indicated that professional development and career growth opportunities like what is offered at MVH are very important.

Open Positions at MVH

Throughout its six Homes, MVH offers full-, part-time and seasonal positions in a variety of areas and we offer a broad continuum of care for residents that include: Dementia Care, Residential, Long Term, Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Care. Positions could include:

  • Registered nurses
  • Physical, occupational and speech therapists
  • CNAs and CRMAs
  • Dietary technicians and food service workers
  • Maintenance and housekeeping
  • Professional and administrative positions
