Our Veterans gave so much to our country and we are honored to give back to them in the form of providing excellent care and enrichment to their lives. MVH also believes it’s important to provide many avenues for which to provide award winning care to our Veterans.
Training at MVH
Several of our Homes offer an “Earn While you Learn” program where students train to become Certified Nursing Assistants while also earning a salary. They also get to work with our residents, allowing them to form special relationships that both parties benefit from. In our Scarborough Home, the Earn While you Learn provides tutoring for those students who English is their second language.
It’s also common for our Homes to partner with area nursing schools to help teach and nurture students who will provide the excellent care our Veterans deserve. Students get the hands-on experience they need to become healthcare steward and MVH gets the opportunity to introduce these students to our very special mission of “caring for those who served.”
We also support CNAs who wish to pursue nursing degrees through tuition loan assistance.
