Leland A. Millett, Jr., was born in Norway, Maine, on April 10, 1928. He graduated from Norway High School in 1946. While in high school, he played basketball and football, and remains a fan of both sports and enjoys watching the Red Sox and the Patriots.
Leland enlisted in the Air Force in 1947, and served as a photographer until he was honorably discharged in 1951. He served during the Korean War in Fort Worth & El Paso, Texas, and Roswell, New Mexico. Leland earned the Good Conduct medal.
After Leland was discharged from the service, he worked for Norway Farmers Union (now the Paris Farmer's Union), he had a bakery route for Cushman Bakery, was self employed as a construction worker, and a photographer for the Advertiser-Democrat, Lewiston Sun Journal, and the Portland Press Herald newspapers.
Leland was married to Marion Millett and they have 3 children, Paul, Deb & Rhonda. They also have 3 grandchildren, Marklee, Jonathan & Timothy.
Leland volunteered 20 plus years for Community Lunch, and also volunteered to do bingo at the Norway Legion and at the Maine Veterans' Home in South Paris.
Leland came to the MVH South Paris in 2015, and enjoys playing bingo, cribbage and visiting.
